Ghana is only two weeks away from the 2020 general elections, to elect president and parliamentary for the next four years. The various political parties are all over the country canvassing for votes from electorates. The power goes back to the citizens on December 7, 2020 again, to decide who rules Ghana.
Ghana has been a good illustration of peace as our past elections have been so peaceful and smooth. The two major political parties are debating on what they think is good for the people of Ghana. They are also requesting for either re-election or continuation. There has been allegations by some players in the Ghanaian politics that the EC wants to rig the elections for a particular party.
Kwadwo Afari Gyan who was Ghana’s Electoral Commissioner from 1993 to 2015 has made a big revelation. According to Afari Gyan, nobody can ever rig elections in Ghana. He made this revelation while addressing a group of people. According to the former EC boss, the elections is only won at the polling station and there’s no way Electoral Commission can rig the elections.
Afari Gyan is an academic, Political scientist and administrator of elections. He is 75 years old, born in 1945. His knowledge about elections and processes around elections is very deep.
