Battle rap (also known as rap battling) is a type of rapping that includes bragging, insults and boasting content. Battling can occur on recorded albums, though rap battles are often recited or freestyled spontaneously in live battles, “where MCs will perform on the same stage to see who has the better verses”.
While promoting his new EP “Freedom” on Instagram Live, the “Freedom Fight” hitmaker Junior Jnr suggested a potential showdown between he and Ghanaian rappers. When asked who would be a worthy opponent for him. Our very own Junior Jnr in an interview with Prodigy on DicTunes.com, made it know that Ghanaian rappers are weak and lazy. And for that matter can battle all rappers with the exception of Sarkodie & E.L.
“I think because of the momentum, the best question should have been ‘Which American rapper can you battle?’,” he said before explaining why. “It’s the same style in the same period so it will be boring to keep finishing them one after the other. I need different kind of rap style”.
He also went feature on saying “I do love their style tho, but what makes it boring for me, is the fact that they keep copying each others style. No one want’s to do something different”. With the kind of heat Junior Jnr is coming in the game with, I thing Ghanaian rappers needs to double up the games.
