The perceived bad blood between some elements within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the late former President, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings contributed to the death of the former military ruler and the longest-serving president under the Fourth Republican Constitution who died at the age of 73.

“The inhumane treatment, disrespect and insults by the babies with sharp teeth might have caused the death of J.J Rawlings”, Communication team member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Raphael Sarfo Patrick claimed.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Raphael Sarfo Patrick explained that the NDC as a party did not show respect to Jerry Rawlings who founded it while alive hence, tributes and testimonies from them cannot be said to be genuine.

“I believe if NDC as a party accorded their founder with some respect, Rawlings could have lived more years. Rawlings himself wasn’t happy with his own people because he was not being treated well”, Raphael Sarfo Patrick told the host.
